Free "Where the Wild Monster Readers Are" Reading, Writing & Art! November 05 2009, 0 Comments

Preschool-2nd Grade

First, read aloud and discuss one of the following books.

  • Where the Wild Things Are Most teachers probably have this. If not, the school library probably has it. Students can use workbook paper to write and illustrate a short story about a monster.
  • Little Monster Becomes an Author Perfect for a writers' workshop lesson teaching the steps involved in writing. It's the book on the upper left in the photo on this link. This book can be used as a model for story writing. After reading the book the students can write a story about a monster using the story writing process described in the book.
