Melinda Michalec

Melinda Michalec is the developer of WriteReflections™, an innovative writing enrichment curriculum.

"Originally, I developed it to meet the challenge of the Florida Comprehensive Assessment Test (FCAT) in writing, which measures a students’ ability to write a five paragraph essay,” says Michalec.

“One school that used this writing curriculum achieved tremendous results with their fourth grade students. Of those who took the state writing test, their scores increased from 14% of the students scoring at or above a 3.0 (out of a possible 6), as measured on the FCAT writing test, to 97% of students scoring at or above a 3.0."

Mindy, I miss you here at Oak Park South. You were a breath of fresh air in this highly structured, test-driven, product oriented world of Special Education. Hope you are doing well. There is a vacuum left by your absence. David P.S. The kids still talk about the “lady with the M and M’s”.
